Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support restorative and rehabilitative PT services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will work on-site with some mobile/home-based services as needed for frail and elderly participants.

Responsibilities include administering treatment programs, assisting with vitals and assessments, and coordinating with the rehab team.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or equivalent.
  • Active license as PTA in applicable state is required.

Job Summary

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the delivery of restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will work with participants primarily in an on-site setting, with occasional mobile/home-based services based on participant needs.

The position focuses on helping individuals—particularly frail and elderly populations—improve mobility, independence, safety, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional ability. The PTA will collaborate closely with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized treatment plans and provide high‑quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer treatment programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist with obtaining vital signs, range‑of‑motion measurements, strength assessments, and other clinical information.
  • Implement physical therapy interventions according to established plans of care.
  • Use appropriate therapeutic devices, techniques, and activities to promote:
    • Muscle re‑education
    • Balance and coordination
    • Endurance
    • Functional mobility
    • Cognitive and perceptual‑motor function
    • Independence with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Coordinate with members of the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary care teams to support individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide education and training to participants, caregivers, families, and staff regarding therapeutic exercises, equipment, and safe equipment use.
  • Monitor therapeutic equipment and assist with equipment maintenance and inventory.
  • Observe and communicate changes in a participant's condition or functional status to the supervising Physical Therapist and appropriate care team members.
  • Assist with scheduling treatment sessions, clinical visits, and related administrative activities.
  • Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation accurately and within established timelines.
  • Support rehabilitation activities and care coordination as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain participant privacy and confidentiality in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, quality improvement activities, and educational programs.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervisor and care team regarding workload, priorities, and participant needs.
  • Complete required health screenings, training, and compliance requirements.
  • Work effectively in a changing environment and adapt responsibilities according to operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist Assistant experience in a clinical setting, preferably working with frail or elderly populations.
  • Strong knowledge and clinical skills related to treating older adults with complex care needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to changing patient needs.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Compassionate approach and commitment to providing high‑quality care to senior and vulnerable populations.
Education
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Physical Therapist Assistant education completed outside the United States must be evaluated and determined to be equivalent to the applicable U.S. educational requirements.
License & Certification
  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the applicable state of practice.
  • Must be legally authorized to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the assigned work location.
  • Must practice only within the scope of applicable licensure and professional authority.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Primarily on‑site, with some mobile/home‑based services depending on participant needs.
  • The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to carry out treatment interventions and support rehabilitation‑related activities.
  • The role also includes administrative and operational responsibilities such as scheduling, maintaining temperature logs, monitoring inventory, and coordinating with other care team members.
