Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide community-based neurorehabilitation that helps clients regain function where life happens—at home, in the community, and beyond.

The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to assist with exercises, ambulation, and use of assistive devices, while educating patients and families and contributing to program development.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted PTA license in the practicing state.
• BLS/CPR certification as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience as a PTA.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological injury.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with exercises, ambulation and activities per plan.
• Help collect outcome measures and perform complex procedures.
• Educate patients, families and other health workers on procedures.
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of care provided.
• Adhere to the APTA Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in exercise, ambulation, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist Physical Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures.
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided.
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the APTA Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist Assistant by state in which practicing.
• Current Basic Life Support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification, in accordance state regulations.
• A minimum of one year’s work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury.
• Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions.
• Demonstrates strong organization skills and attention to detail.
