Job summary

Elara Caring in Indiana seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide hands-on rehabilitation in patients' homes. You will implement the plan developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, monitor progress, and educate patients and families on home therapy practices.

Responsibilities include guiding mobility goals, safely using assistive devices, and ensuring care aligns with physician orders and state guidelines. Travel between patient homes is required.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• 6+ months experience as a PTA preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned locations.

• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines

What is Required?

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations
