Job summary

Hanker Systems, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The role operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

You will implement PT plans, guide therapeutic exercises, and help patients improve mobility while collaborating with therapists, nurses, and support staff. A valid PTA license and rehab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license required
• Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or subacute settings preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team

Responsibilities

• Implement PT plans developed by supervising Physical Therapist
• Provide therapeutic exercises and mobility training to patients
• Assist patients in improving strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and mobility
• Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, safety precautions, and mobility techniques
• Train patients in the use of assistive devices such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs
• Assist with transfer training and gait training to increase independence
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain treatment documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations
• Ensure a safe therapeutic environment and promote patient comfort and recovery
