Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support licensed physical therapists in delivering patient-centered interventions. Under supervision, you will implement components of the plan of care and monitor patient responses.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, safety, education for patients and families, and collaboration with care teams. Prior PTA experience is preferred, and active licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
  • Current state Board of Physical Therapist Assistant licensure.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the individualized plan of care as established by the physical therapist.
  • Assists the physical therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughout treatment.
  • Completes legible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframe identified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance with accreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
  • Communicates with the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and members of the health care team to promote maximum benefit of care.
  • Identifies educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.
