Job summary

Hertford Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in NC is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide patient treatment under a PT's supervision. The role supports patient progress, documentation, and scheduling within state guidelines.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality rehab care. Eligible candidates hold a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy (APTA-recognized) and a current state license/registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient's daily participation and progress on progress notes with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by the Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists' caseload during absences as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and facility staff as needed.
• Comply with facility safety policies, patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time and uphold professional image.

• 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• 20.Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
