Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, residents, and clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of a physical therapist
• Provide, monitor, and record therapy services for patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments
• Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with competency levels, patient goals, practice-setting requirements, and state licensure
• Exchange information with and provide documentation to the physical therapist about patient responses and communications during intervention
• Provide information and documentation related to achievement of targeted physical therapy outcomes
• Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations
• Perform other related duties as requested
• Provide interventions in post-acute, long-term care, and outpatient care environments as needed based on facility needs and assigned locations
• Cover skilled nursing facilities at Good Samaritan Algona and Forest City
• Work weekdays with flexible weekends and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
• Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice
• Must conform to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
• May require a valid driver's license when applicable
• New graduates are welcome
