Job summary

Spinal Recovery and Joint Center in Detroit, MI is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient therapy team. You will assist with therapeutic exercises, monitor patient progress, document care, and help patients safely work toward their rehabilitation goals under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.

Full-time schedule is Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, with weekends off.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification from an accredited physical therapy program with clinical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a physical therapy aide.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency or challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Guide, instruct, and motivate patients through prescribed exercises and functional activities.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual treatments, massage, and appropriate physical therapy modalities.
• Monitor patients during treatment and communicate progress and concerns to the Physical Therapist.
• Measure range of motion, vital signs, and other treatment-related indicators.
• Assist patients with transfers, positioning, and use of therapy equipment.
• Fit and instruct patients on supportive devices such as braces and crutches.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team.
• Follow established treatment plans and applicable standards of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary
