Responsibilities

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA) performs treatments, provides exercise instructions, and educates patients to improve their well-being, following the established plan of care. Responsibilities include:

• Following all state laws governing physical therapy in home care, performing only procedures qualified and trained for, and recommending changes to the supervising PT
• Instructing and aiding patients in exercises, gait, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observing, recording, and reporting patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT and healthcare team
• Educating patients, families, and caregivers within the scope of practice

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Current license, registration, or certification to assist in physical therapy practice in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
