Job summary

Luke Staffing seeks a Physical Therapist to support care at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The role requires a Master’s or CAPTE-approved degree, current licensure, and US citizenship. You will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic programs, document progress, and coordinate treatment with the medical team.

Ideal candidates demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and strong English communication to interact with patients and other health care providers in a fast-paced military environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide full range of PT services within scope of clinical privileges.

  • Deliver manual and therapeutic exercises to restore function.
  • Educate and motivate patients in activities of daily living and use of assistive devices.
  • Document treatment and progress in patient records and systems.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and staff and communicate concerns.
  • Support prevention and wellness activities and health promotion.

Physical Therapist
SITE OF SERVICE: Andersen Air Force Base, Guam
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Degree: Master's degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.

Education: Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions (preferably 1 year)

Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist.

U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen

English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.

Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

CORE DUTIES:
  • Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.
  • Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
  • Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
  • Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required.
  • Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors.
HOURS:

Facility operates Monday - Friday

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
