Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow, AZ is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for outpatient care. The PT will evaluate, treat, and develop individualized plans heeding professional standards while teaching patients and families. Collaboration with the care team and supervision as needed will ensure high-quality patient care.
The role emphasizes program development, staff orientation when needed, and adherence to ABPTS practice standards within a safe, patient-centered environment.
Physical therapist (P.T.s) functions under the general supervision of the director of physical therapy. The staff P.T. assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in accordance with professional standards of practice, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
The staff physical therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by physical therapy assistance, technicians, or other assistive personnel. They may be assigned to orient staff and students and assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.
The P.T. accurately assesses patients' needs; identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy intervention; provides patient and family teaching; and works cooperatively with other patient team personnel and maintains standards for professional physical therapy practice. These functions are carried out in accordance with the mission and vision of High Desert Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation.
The P.T. participates in performance improvement and program development activities. Responsibilities include providing input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department; communicating the employee's observations and suggestions related to opportunities for improvement; and maintaining positive relations with all customers. The physical therapist will provide an environment conductive to safety for patients, visitors and staff. The PT will utilize the appropriate leadership skills and delegating, organizing and educating patients and staff.
