Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our developmental center providing support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will deliver rehabilitation services within an interdisciplinary environment that includes medical, nursing, dietary, vocational, social, recreational, transportation, and habilitation supports. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate claimants/clients by administering tests and measurements (e.g., range of motion, gait and functional analysis, neurological assessments) to determine individualized rehabilitation needs.
- Provide and oversee ongoing assessments of rehabilitation progress.
- Prepare, maintain, and transmit measurement and assessment records; report findings to interdisciplinary teams as requested.
- Contribute to the development and presentation of individualized treatment plans, including goal setting and physical therapy interventions.
- Conduct periodic reassessments and revise treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Participate in continuing education, in-service training, research initiatives, and program development activities.
- Assist in training and mentoring pre-clinical and clinical physical therapy students, physical therapist assistant students, licensed physical therapy assistants, and therapy aides.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, physical therapy assessments, and treatment planning.
- Ability to administer and interpret functional, neurological, and mobility assessments.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Ability to supervise and train support staff and students.
