Responsibilities

  • Record patient conditions and responses; complete daily notes and forms in EMR.
  • Maintain knowledge of PT role as primary care provider and evidence-based practices.
  • Communicate with referring physicians and other health care staff about therapy and equipment.
  • Document treatments to substantiate billing in EMR; ensure quality care.

Health, Wellness, and Clinical Services Position Overview This temporary staff position is responsible for providing specialized physical therapy evaluation and treatment of patients, including the development of plan of care, and ongoing treatment with patients through all phases of physical therapy. Position requires ensuring every patient receives a unique experience through a comprehensive, thorough, and customized physical therapy regimen with an emphasis on quality care provided in a friendly and encouraging environment. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation and treatment of incoming patients to determine appropriate physical treatment programs, including exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and other necessary treatment.
  • Discuss treatment with patients and record patient conditions and responses to treatments. Complete daily patient care notes, progress notes, discharge notes and other required forms for all patients prior to end of each week within medical record/practice management system.
  • Maintain current knowledge of physical therapist role as primary care provider as well as evidence-based best practice.
  • Communicate with referring physicians, and other health care personnel regarding patient therapy and equipment.
  • Document treatments rendered to substantiate appropriate billing and in electronic medical record.
  • Maintain and continue to develop Clinical Skills Through Continuing Education. Physical Job Requirements Ability to lift or stabilize up to fifty (50) pounds frequently. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting or supporting of up to 100 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms. Frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must follow proper body mechanics and procedures for lifting/moving patients and utilize lift equipment as appropriate. This position has qualities that fall in both medium and heavy physical demand levels as defined by the US Department of Labor Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) *****
OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
