Moody Neuro Rehabilitation Institute in Lubbock, TX seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate, treat, and develop IPP plans to restore function at home and in the community. You will supervise PT assistants and document treatment plans, while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with referring practitioners.
This day-shift full-time role requires a Master’s (or DPT), Texas licensure, and experience with neurological patients; the program emphasizes evidence-based practice,
Uses evidence-based practice to evaluate and analyze results in order to develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP) to restore function and increase independence of the individual at home and in the community. Provides direct physical therapy services to patients as per the plan utilizing accepted format and terminology for all documentation. Supervises and reviews all documentation of treatment plans by physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians working under the plan of care. Exercises sound clinical decision making when planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient's response to treatment. Depending upon need, consults with referring practitioners regarding the individual's progress and appropriateness of treatments. Participates in clinical research as assigned by the Program Director or Clinical Manager. Accepts the responsibility for and acquires necessary certification to act as a clinical instructor when appropriate for student physical therapists. The licensed Physical Therapist upholds the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization and department while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and the individuals being served in the performance of assigned duties.
Masters Degree Required; Prefer Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Graduation from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Must be licensed to practice physical therapy in Texas.
Prefer experience providing direct service to adults with neurological disorders including but not limited to head injury and cerebral vascular accident.
PERCENTAGE OF WORK TIME (1-33%): Sitting, Twisting, Lifting/Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, Bending/Stooping.
PERCENTAGE OF WORK TIME (34-66%): Standing/Walking, Climbing (Ascending/Descending), Using arm muscles frequently or for extended periods, Using leg muscles frequently or for extended periods, Using back muscles frequently or for extended periods.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS (1-33%): 31‑40 lbs, 41‑50 lbs, 51 lbs or more.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS (34-66%): 11‑20 lbs, 21‑30 lbs.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS (67‑100%): 2‑10 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (1-33%): Working in hot, cold, wet surrounds; Working outdoors; Working with or near chemicals; Working near radiation sources; Potential exposure to communicable diseases; Working with hazardous waste materials; Utilizing essential upgraded or adaptive equipment as industry standards require; Using hand tools; Operating vehicle.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (67-100%): Potential for cuts and bruises.
EXCHANGE OF IDEAS (67-100%): Ability to express or exchange ideas; Ability to understand communication of others with or without adaptive devices; Obtaining visual impressions including acuity (far, near), depth perception, field of vision, accommodation, color vision.
