Qualifications

  • Must have State Licensure or Registration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required; Master's degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Minimum of two years Physical Therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practices Physical Therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
  • Confers with the persons most closely associated with the management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modification and/or progress.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of facility reports, assuring confidentiality of all records including: Evaluation reports/summaries, Discharge reports/summaries, Progress reports to referring physicians and agencies, Current progress notes on all patients within their area, Special reports as requested by the director and/or supervisor, Daily attendance records and summaries of same.
  • Sees that all facility routines and procedures are carried out as outlined.
  • Keeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Physical Therapy.
  • Maintains good public relations with all community sources.
  • Delegates portions of the above-listed duties to facility personnel, with approval of the supervisor and/or director/vice president and in line with the best use of time and experience of such personnel.
  • Keeps current on and adheres to policies and procedures as enumerated in the Policy and Procedures Manual of the facility.
  • Interprets and carries out the prescription of the physician.
  • Maintains good public relations.
  • Protects confidential data.
  • Maintains economic use of time, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures safety and welfare of patients and other employees.
  • Must be able to apply the theory of Physical Therapy; have the ability and competency to operate the equipment used in their position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before other; supervision and management skills.
  • Performs Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure. Documents required information and complies with all Point of Care quality control standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
Master's degree in Physical Therapy (preferred)
