Job summary

Vail Health in Dillon, Colorado is seeking an experienced Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join Howard Head Sports Medicine, supporting our outpatient clinic and coordinating care with the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

You will evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based rehab for post-operative and non-operative conditions, and collaborate with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes in a mountain community setting.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in Colorado (or eligible via Compact Privilege).
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience or strong interest in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans for orthopedic and sports medicine patients.
  • Provide evidence-based rehabilitation for post-operative and non-operative conditions.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
  • Support Ambulatory Surgery Center–related rehabilitation planning and coordination.
  • Educate patients and families on injury prevention, recovery expectations, and home programs.
  • Use advanced clinical reasoning and manual therapy to restore function.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on patient experience and outcomes.
  • Help grow orthopedic rehabilitation services in mountain communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans for orthopedic and sports medicine patients
  • Provide evidence-based rehabilitation for post-operative and non-operative orthopedic conditions
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Support patient care initiatives associated with our Ambulatory Surgery Center, including post-surgical rehabilitation planning and coordination
  • Educate patients and families on injury prevention, recovery expectations, home exercise programs, and return-to-activity strategies
  • Utilize advanced clinical reasoning and manual therapy techniques to restore function and improve performance
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on exceptional patient experience and outcomes
  • Assist in building and growing orthopedic rehabilitation services within our mountain communities
What We’re Looking For
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in Colorado (or eligible for Colorado licensure through Compact Privilege)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience or strong interest in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and post-operative rehabilitation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
