Job summary

ArchKey Solutions seeks a Physical Security Estimator to assist Account Executives with preconstruction estimates, proposals, and bid reviews in alignment with company policies. Location is Plymouth, MN or Remote, with focus on cost value analysis and historical evaluations.

The ideal candidate applies strong analytical and mathematical skills to estimate physical security projects, reads plans, and collaborates across teams. Occasional travel may be required as projects dictate.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of Physical Security experience in estimating and design/build estimating preferred.
• Able to read, interpret and understand plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Basic training in project management and understanding of the project life cycle.
• Knowledge of video management, access control, intrusion, video intercom.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plans and monitors estimating activities for each project for quality and accuracy.
• Reviews bid documents with account managers to determine costs and labor rates.
• Utilizes estimating software to estimate projects and supports procurement.
• Surveys job sites as needed for scope and to determine cost-effective plans.
• Prepares accurate estimate documents and supports RFPs and bids.
• Works with purchasing and design departments to ensure constructible projects.

About the position

As a Physical Security Estimator, you will be responsible for assisting the A ccount Executives, and Account Managers with preconstruction services which includes preparation of estimates, proposal and bid reviews, document reviews, cost value analysis, cost and systems reviews, analysis and comparisons, historical evaluations, and bid processes, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Day in the life

• Plans and monitors the estimating activities of each project for quality and accuracy of work. This includes collecting quotes from subcontractors, performing estimates, scheduling tasks, achieving goals and standards.
• Reviews all bid documents and works with the account manager and chief estimator to determine the general expenses, labor rates, and other costs associated with each project. Utilizes estimating software to properly estimate projects.
• Surveys job sites as needed for scope of work and to determine the most cost effective and efficient plan possible.
• Composes estimate documents in an accurate, complete, and professional manner. Assists in the interview procurement process, proposal writing for RFPs, bids, and related reports.
• Ensures all estimates and RFPs are fulfilled to the customers and the Companys conditions for satisfaction.
• Works with the purchasing department to reduce the risk of material buyout . Works with the design department on design build and design assist projects to assure an accurate and constructible project. Provides coaching, mentoring, and training to co-workers as needed.
• Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
• Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
• Promote and model ArchKeys mission, vision, and values through ethical business practices and collaboration

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-5 years of Physical Security experience in estimating, common code requirements, and design/build estimating preferred.
• Skills to read, interpret and understand plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Basic training, experience, and skills in project management. Understanding of the project life cycle.
• Superior analytical and mathematical skills, conceptual estimating, and critical thinking skills.
• Field experience or estimating experience in physical security settings preferred.
• Knowledge of video management, access control, intrusion, video intercom
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid , Microsoft Suite a plus

Travel

• Occasional travel may be required

Salary Range

• $ 68 ,000 $83,9 00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
