The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a Physical Plant Service Worker I to perform manual tasks across campus, including moves, setup of furniture, and custodial work. This full-time on-campus role involves teamwork under supervision and visits to different university buildings to load, unload and arrange furniture for events.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsabilités

• Completes assigned work with supervision from the crewleader.
• Works as a team member to load, unload, and move furniture and equipment at different locations including file cabinets, supplies, and mail among university buildings; sets up and tears down all necessary furniture for special functions.
• Drives trucks and operates power equipment on trucks and transports equipment to be salvaged.
• Performs custodial duties and basic painting and construction work.
• Promotes safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating inappropriate safety training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $33,891 annualized.

Job Summary

The Physical Plant Service Worker I performs various manualtasks necessary to complete work order assignments for the PhysicalPlant.

Working Conditions

• Conditions may vary according to the type and place where workis being performed. Frequent exposure to outside weatherconditions. Occasional overtime duty required on nights, weekends,and holidays in connection with athletic events and specialprograms.

Physical Demands

• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally,and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 poundsof force constantly to move objects with or withoutaccommodation.

This position will work primarily on campus.Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
