Job summary

The Periscope Group is seeking Independent Consultants to perform one-time in-home medical necessity assessments for physical or occupational therapy needs. This role emphasizes clinical expertise, travel to member homes, and producing actionable recommendations with concise online documentation.

Qualified therapists must hold an active PT or OT license and maintain liability insurance. You can set your own schedule, and compensation ranges per assessment reflect location and assessment type.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist.
• Malpractice insurance may be purchased at the time of job offer.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, navigate stairs and varied home environments, and perform physical assessments as needed.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and from member homes.
• Proficient with technology: navigate online portals and upload documents on devices.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform one-time comprehensive medical need assessments in an individual's home.
• Provide expert recommendations for equipment, service, and care that empower members to maintain independence
• Complete straightforward documentation through our secure, user-friendly online potable accessible from any device

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist (Sorry, No PTAs or COTAs).
• Malpractice/Liability Insurance (may be purchased at the time of job offer).
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, navigate stairs and varied home environments, and perform physical assessments as needed
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and from member homes
• Proficient with technology: able to navigate online portals, upload documents, and use your preferred device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) for all work tasks
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Home safety assessment background
• Knowledge (Familiarity) of durable medical equipment
• Experience with home modifications
• Work history with diverse medical conditions
