Job summary

The Periscope Group in the United States offers an independent contractor role for Occupational or Physical Therapists to conduct in-home assessments. You will assess medical needs, recommend equipment and care, and train patients on wearable devices as part of a nationwide network.

Flexibility to set your own schedule, with onboarding and ongoing professional development through our mentoring program. Compensation ranges from $135 to $200 per assessment, depending on location and assessment

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist.
• Malpractice/Liability Insurance (may be purchased at time of offer).
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, navigate stairs and varied home environments.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to member homes.
• Proficient with technology: navigate portals and upload documents.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform one-time comprehensive medical need assessments in a patient’s home.
• Provide expert recommendations for equipment, service and care to maintain independence.
• Perform one-time medical device training to patients with peripheral neuropathy.
• Complete documentation through the secure online portal from any device.
• Participate in training to become a certified wearable device trainer.
• Educate patients on device use.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform one-time comprehensive medical need assessments in an individual’s home.
• Provide expert recommendations for equipment, service, and care that empower members to maintain independence
• Perform one-time medical device training to patients with peripheral neuropathy
• Complete straightforward documentation through our secure, user-friendly online portal accessible from any device
• Participate in training to become a certified wearable device trainer
• Provide education on use of the device

Qualifications And Requirements

• Current licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist (Sorry, No PTAs or COTAs).
• Malpractice/Liability Insurance (may be purchased at the time of job offer).
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, navigate stairs and varied home environments, and perform physical assessments as needed
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and from member homes
• Proficient with technology: able to navigate online portals, upload documents, and use your preferred device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) for all work tasks
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Home safety assessment background
• Knowledge (Familiarity) of durable medical equipment
• Experience with home modifications
• Work history with diverse medical conditions
