Job summary

Riverview Gardens School District is seeking a Physical Education Coordinator for K-5 for the 26-27 school year. The role is for internal staff only, with a $5,000 stipend and part-time status.

The coordinator will plan PD, liaise with arts and curriculum departments, and help lead district athletic events, while supporting equity and educational excellence. Starting immediately, the position requires PE certification and citizenship/residency or work visa.

• Plan and coordinate professional development for the Physical Education department K-5
• Research and contact presenters/vendors for professional development and art showcase (calls, emails, follow up meetings).
• Secure funding dates.
• Plan and facilitate LSW
• Act as contact/liaison between outside arts organizations, attend meetings at various locations, including outside St. Louis.
• Maintain communication with various organizations
• Keep documentation and artifacts for department and Professional Developments.
• Act as additional contact/mentor to Physical Education K-5 teachers in department.
• Share resources and disseminate information with the department.
• Coordinate and participating in creating ideas to get kids more involved in physical education.
• Create activities to help students be more informed about physical health.
• Manage/help order supplies and manage budget for department
• Lead in the planning and coordination of District Physical Athletic events and friendly competition.
• Order and transport materials for District Athletic events.
• Create and share district Central office (Communications Department) board display of Athletic events.
• Create surveys to determine department needs.
• Assist (as needed) in determining budgetary needs and recommending purchases for district-wide and individual fine Physical education programs.
• Inventory supplies and technology for department.
• Act as liaison between art department and individuals.
• Facilitate curriculum writing, acting as liaison between Curriculum dept and Physical Education department.

Qualifications :

• No District Coordinator position can be held by a teacher who does not have specific teacher certification for that specific content area. (i.e. Physical education coordinator must have Physical education certification).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
• Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
• Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
• Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
• Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet. Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
• Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
• The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.

Salary: $5,000 stipend
