Job summary

Nissan USA in Smyrna, TN is offering a Manufacturing Strategy Innovation Intern position to work on AI-enabled manufacturing projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gain hands-on experience with automation systems, and support project phases from concept to testing.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or master's degree program in robotics, computer science, electrical, mechanical or related fields.
• Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming term.
• Experience with robotics, controls, perception systems, and IoT technologies.
• Working knowledge of Python, C/C++, and ROS.
• Basic knowledge of AI development and coding tools.
• GPA of 3.0 or above; transcript may be required during application.
• Ability to perform onsite work in Smyrna, TN.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with manufacturing automation systems and advanced technologies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Support all phases of projects: proposal development, technical design, simulation, hardware prototyping, coding, and testing.
• Contribute to Physical AI projects involving robotics, vision inspection, and digital simulation.
• Track trial results and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Participate in internship program activities and professional development opportunities.
