Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, PAGNY, is adding a Physiatrist to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in the Rehabilitation Medicine division. Harlem Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Harlem and serves Northern Manhattan.

The role focuses on evaluating patients, creating individualized rehabilitation plans, and leading an interdisciplinary team including PTs, OTs, speech therapists, nurses, and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Active NY state license or eligibility to practice.
  • Experience in pediatric rehabilitation and related clinics; acupuncture and MSK ultrasound preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized rehabilitation programs.
  • Lead and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of therapists and nurses.

Opportunity Details
  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized rehabilitation programs to optimize functional outcomes.
  • Lead and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of PTs, OTs, speech therapists, nurses, and support staff.
  • Collaborate closely with three other physiatrists to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Preferred experience includes EMG/NCS, Botox, joint/trigger point and hyaluronic acid injections, pediatric rehabilitation, and wheelchair/orthotic/prosthetic clinics.
  • Additional preferred skills include acupuncture and musculoskeletal ultrasound, with strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Monday–Friday schedule with no weekday evenings or weekend call.
Qualifications
  • Board Certification or EligibilityinPhysical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Active or eligible for a New York State medical license
  • Experience with pediatric rehabilitation, wheelchair clinic, orthotic and prosthetic clinic, and acupuncture (preferred)
  • Skilled in musculoskeletal ultrasound use (preferred)

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $241,000* (board eligible); $246,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $360,620**(board eligible) and $366,120 ** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
