Job summary

Restaurant Supply, LLC is seeking a Senior PHP/Symfony Engineer to own and scale our internal automation platform. You will design the data model behind customers, orders, leads, accounts and products, and build daily syncs across ERP, ecommerce stores, and sales tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the automation platform, ensuring maintainability, monitoring, and scalability.
• Design and maintain data model for customers, orders, leads, accounts and products.
• Build and run daily sync chains between ERP, ecommerce stores and sales tools.
• Integrate with ecommerce platforms via GraphQL, bulk ops and webhooks; connect with other systems via REST/SOAP.
• Ensure reliable syncs despite API rate limits and missing records; protect data quality during write-backs.
• Develop browser automation with headless Node.js for non-API workflows and web scraping behind proxies.
• Enhance product data with AI-driven categorization while controlling cost and accuracy.
• Run Symfony Messenger queues, cron jobs, and background workers; monitor failures and runbooks.
• Create React front-end components for internal users; automate sales engagement and SEO tasks.

This role is ideal for an engineer who has built and maintained complex integrations between ecommerce, ERP, CRM, and other business systems, and who enjoys solving challenging problems involving data synchronization, asynchronous processing, and production reliability. You'll work alongside an existing developer to improve architecture, strengthen monitoring and error handling, and build reliable automations that support our ecommerce and sales operations. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack PHP Developer to own our in-house business automation platform, together with an existing developer. The platform connects our ERP, ecommerce stores and sales tools, keeping customers, orders, leads and product data in sync. Your primary objective is to make it reliable, maintainable and monitorable. Key focus areas are product architecture, data modeling, a Symfony back end with caching, queues and asynchronous processing, integrations, crawling and a React front end. The ideal candidate is an experienced full stack Symfony developer who has built integrations at scale, pays close attention to detail, learns fast and enjoys solving problems creatively.

Integrate with ecommerce platforms through GraphQL APIs, bulk operations and webhooks, and with other systems through REST and SOAP. Keep syncs reliable despite rate-limited APIs and missing records, and protect write-back data quality. Build resilient browser automation with headless browsers in Node.js for workflows that have no API, and web scraping behind proxies. Enrich and categorise product data using AI models, controlling cost and accuracy. Run Symfony Messenger queues, cron jobs and background workers, handling failed messages quickly. Keep production healthy with alerts, digests and runbooks, and reduce alert noise. Build React front end screens for internal users, and automate sales engagement and SEO tasks. Raise unit and end-to-end test coverage and keep it running in CI.

At least 5 years of professional software development experience. A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience building and running integrations and automations with third-party APIs (ERP, ecommerce, CRM and sales tools) at scale. Proven product architecture skills: designing and running maintainable, monitorable, scalable applications. Strong data modelling skills and deep experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and Doctrine ORM. Expert knowledge of PHP 8 and Symfony on the back end. Strong knowledge of caching systems (e.g. Redis). Hands-on experience with Symfony Messenger or other message queues, and with asynchronous and background processing. Experience with REST, GraphQL and SOAP APIs. Experience with web crawling and headless browser automation (Node.js). Strong experience with a modern JavaScript front end, ideally React. Automated testing experience, unit (PHPUnit) and end-to-end (Playwright), and CI/CD pipelines. Personal qualities: Strong attention to detail. Creativity in finding simpler, better solutions. A fast learner who picks up new systems quickly. Hard working, with real ownership of results. Experience with ERP or ecommerce platform data models. Experience with sales engagement or CRM automation. Knowledge of SEO automation. Knowledge of foodservice equipment or the wider equipment supply industry. Working Hours This is a full-time role, working remotely from anywhere within Europe. Your working hours should overlap with the team between 10:00 and 19:00 Paris time (CET, UTC+1; CEST, UTC+2 in summer).
