Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an expert software engineer with hands‑on experience in Node.js backend development and modern UI work using React. The role covers REST/GraphQL APIs, Shopify Polaris for UI, and PHP/WordPress plugin development, including shopping cart integrations.

Ideal candidates will have cloud native experience (Azure/AWS/GCP), streaming tech exposure (Kafka/Spark), and strong DevOps practices. Collaboration with cross‑functional product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with PHP, React, Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
• Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
• Experience building and integrating shopping cart payment plugins.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Databases experience: PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Cassandra or MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product owner, scrum master, and vendors to deliver features.
• Communicate processes and results to all stakeholders involved in the product team.
• Ensure feature scope, user flows, and impact are well understood by the team.

Job description

• Expert level hands‑on experience in Node.js for backend development.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs. React and Shopify Polaris for UI development. React.js and its core principles
• Hands‑on experience with PHP (7.x/8.x+) and WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience building shopping cart payment plugins or integrations is a plus
• Experience in Cloud native development in Azure, AWS or GCP is preferred.
• Experience in streaming technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark is preferred.
• Experience with RDBMS like PostgreSQL, and/or MS SQL
• Experience in NoSQL databases like Cassandra, MongoDB.
• Prior experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
• Thorough understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose
• Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles
• Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers month.
