Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Sr. Photonics Test Solutions Product Manager in the San Jose area. The role focuses on identifying photonics test instruments and solutions, performing market research, and building robust business cases.

You will work with sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to bring new products to market. The candidate will lead NPI programs, establish relationships with leading customers, and promote products at events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Photonics or related field; Masters degree desirable.
• At least 10 years of experience in a product management role.
• Proven track record of successfully bringing new products and solutions to market.
• Deep expertise in Photonics & High-Speed I/O test and measurement solutions.
• Well-known individual in the industry.
• Knowledge of PXI test solutions is a plus.
• Good understanding of the photonics ecosystem.
• Strong network of optical communication customers worldwide.
• Exceptional customer-facing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to develop strong customer relationships and communicate with tact and diplomacy.
• A desire to become a trusted advisor to customers and interfacing regularly with key technical contacts.
• Comfortable working autonomously while setting and achieving ambitious goals.
• Excellent organizational, time management, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated and hard-charging individual to drive results.
• A desire to win at an individual and team level.
• Curiosity and desire to learn and share knowledge.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Identify new product and solution opportunities in close cooperation with customers and partners.
• Perform market research and create business cases for prospective products and solutions.
• Lead and drive New Product Introductions, maximizing revenue growth and minimizing time-to-market.
• Create teamwork among sales, marketing, engineering, operations and finance.
• Maximize revenue from new products and solutions and take market share from competitors.
• Create and maintain a product/solutions roadmap to drive activities and success.
• Interpret customer requirements and identify optimal solutions.
• Build a large network of prospective customers and maintain relationships.
• Cooperate with stakeholders to maximize success.
• Participate in industry standards.
• Promote existing and new products at trade shows and online presentations.
