Job summary

PBS12 is seeking a dynamic Photojournalist and editor for an internship/apprenticeship program and original storytelling. The role blends mentorship with hands-on storytelling, using video, audio, and current editing tools to educate new creators.

Overall, the candidate should bring at least five years of TV/video experience, strong journalism ethics, and leadership skills to guide the next generation of PBS12 storytellers across TV, OTT, and digital platforms.

Qualifications

Five years or more as a TV/video photojournalist.
Experience with coaching, mentoring, teaching, or presenting at industry events (like NPPA Conferences).
Valid driver’s license and ability to lift and carry 40lbs and occasionally up to 80lbs of equipment.
Demonstrated excellent storytelling, writing skills, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.
Strong computer and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere and the Adobe CC Suite.
Drone experience and FAA Part 107 Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Tell compelling, impactful stories using video and audio and the latest editing/photography tools.
Teach, coach, and mentor young creators; organize curriculum and guest speakers.
Assist in creating and updating the internship/apprenticeship program.
Work independently or with a team.
Use graphics and new media forms to enhance stories.
