Job summary

Spectrum News NECN seeks a Photojournalist to shoot and edit material for newscasts, delivering compelling stories with fresh angles and clear storytelling across TV, connected TV, and digital platforms.

You'll work with a collaborative newsroom team, travel to cover important local events, and adapt to fast-paced, evolving coverage while prioritizing accuracy and community connection. Experience in ENG/SNG operations is essential to succeed in this role at Spectrum News NECN.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shooting and editing television news footage.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming.
• Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate to populations and ages.
• Open to travel to cover important stories in the neighborhood.
• Ability to work different shifts and cover stand-by responsibilities.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS NECN

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage – 5+ years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
• Technical Skills: Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming
• Skills: Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate to populations and ages
• Abilities: Positive attitude and eagerness to solve problems, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds
• Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and able to cover stand‑by responsibilities when assigned
• Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the state of residence

• Works inside in a climate‑controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions
• Drives company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws
