Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a full-time News Photographer/MMJ for WSMH/WBSF to capture compelling local stories, from general assignments to in-depth features and investigations.

The role involves shooting in HD, editing on laptops, and occasional MMJ duties, including pitching ideas and researching stories across platforms.

We value strong editing skills, teamwork, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering engaging reporting.

Qualifications

• At least one year of shooting experience with broadcast news
• Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, live shots and natural sound packages
• Team player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Ability to MMJ at least once a week
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis

Job description

WSMH/WBSF is looking for a creative full-time News Photographer/MMJ!

We are seeking someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. The candidate should have at least one year experience working with a broadcast news organization. You will cover day to day general, in-depth features and investigative assignments. We are shooting full high definition (HD) on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. In addition to photographer duties, you will have the flexibility to MMJ on occasion. This will include pitching and researching story ideas. A passion for covering local news and storytelling on multiple platforms is absolutely essential in this position.
