Job summary

Labcorp in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Phlebotomy Training Coordinator to onboard new staff and deliver ongoing training across the organization. You will develop resources, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to department policies and systems.

The role requires phlebotomy experience and strong communication, with flexibility to travel for client sites. A commitment to accuracy and customer service will support Labcorp's mission to improve health and lives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 3+ years phlebotomy experience drawing patients of all ages.
  • Experience with Lab Information Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and initial training.
  • Provide ongoing group and individualized training for performance and education.
  • Deliver training on policies, procedures and department systems.
  • Develop resources and programs to accomplish training objectives.
  • Evaluate and update training materials and plans.
  • Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for staff.
  • Support leadership with quality and service metric goals.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for trainings.
  • Travel to client sites and other branches to train when needed.
  • Research industry information as necessary.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, additional days and hours may be required

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees as well as initial training to ensure a positive new hire experience
  • Provide on-going group and individualized training for purposes of work performance enhancement and general education
  • Deliver training in the areas of company and department policies and procedures, department related competencies and Lab Information Systems
  • Develop and implement appropriate resources and programs to accomplish training objectives
  • Evaluate and update existing training materials and plans
  • Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for department employees
  • Support leadership with their goals in relation to quality and service metrics
  • Assist with the creation of improvement plans for underperforming employees
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted
  • Provide training with respect and professionalism at all times
  • Assist with the workflow during times of high volume or when coverage is needed
  • May travel to client sites and other branches to assist in training
  • Research industry related information when necessary
  • Additional administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 3 years or more Phlebotomy experience drawing patients of all ages
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of more of phlebotomy experience as a float and/or in a LabCorp patient service center
Additional Job Standards
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and time management skills
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Flexibility to travel throughout territory for training purposes
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ old
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
