Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is hiring a phlebotomist to support lab operations and patient care. You will transport specimens, perform venipuncture, label specimens accurately, and maintain efficient workflows with a team.

The role requires flexibility for shifts, including evenings and weekends, and adherence to safety protocols. Strong organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and phlebotomy training are essential; BLS/CPR is preferred, with opportunities for career development

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or training as applicable for position.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office experience.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transport hazardous waste from generation point to secure storage area.
• Troubleshoot phlebotomy service concerns and coordinate daily workload.
• Support leadership with daily workflow and problem resolution.
• Perform venipuncture and microtainer collection accurately.
• Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and orders received properly.
• Prioritize routine specimen receipt with STAT and urgent orders.
• Follow safety policies, PPE usage, and hazardous chemical handling.
