Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood collection across age groups, including neonates and infants, and to function within the Specimen Processing and Receiving area of the Laboratory.

The role requires knowledge of patient care appropriate to the age of the patients and the ability to work with the laboratory team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Require graduate of a vocational program in phlebotomy or three (3) months experience.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all relevant computer skills as needed for patient ID system and specimen processing functions.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff and other healthcare providers and excellent communication skills.
• Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blood collection on all age groups including neonates and infants.
• Function in Specimen Processing and Receiving area of the Laboratory.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned area.
