Qualifications

• Experience: You must have at least 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience in phlebotomy or related clinical laboratory work.
• Select Placement Factor: Experience performing phlebotomy/blood draws on human patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard diagnostic tests or procedures such as venipuncture and finger stick to collect blood specimens according to written protocols or as directed by the physician or other professional staff.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and universal precautions at all times while drawing blood.
• Enters all requests into the hospital computer system using multiple formats.
• Builds manifests for Send Out testing and gathers, aliquots, labels, and packages specimens for courier pickup.
• Performs all aspects of sample storage and packaging for shipment of diagnostic specimens and infectious substances in accordance with DOT and IATA regulations.
