Job summary

The John J Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO seeks a Phlebotomist Technician (GS-4) to perform phlebotomy, accessioning, and processing of specimens. English proficiency is required for eligibility in direct patient care roles under VA guidelines.

Qualified candidates will have at least 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized phlebotomy-related experience, or appropriate education as outlined.

Qualifications

• 6 months general experience and 6 months specialized phlebotomy-related experience.
• Proficiency in basic written and spoken English (per VA standards).
• Selective Placement Factor: experience performing phlebotomy/blood draws on human patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on patients and collect specimens.
• Accession and process specimens for testing.
• Maintain accurate labeling and documentation of samples and results.
