Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a phlebotomy-associated role responsible for collecting blood specimens and ensuring proper patient and specimen identification.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with MLA certification preferred and an associates degree with biology/chemistry coursework preferred. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential, and CPR is required by orientation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency preferred (ASCP/AMT).
• Associates Degree with 6 biology and 6 chemistry semester hours preferred.
• Previous work experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain patient confidentiality; CPR by orientation period.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process. Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period.
