• Operations: Oversee inpatient phlebotomy operations for a 24/7 service, ensuring timely and accurate blood collection across all hospital units. Monitor turnaround times, workflow efficiency, productivity, and overall service performance to maintain high‑quality standards.Ensure compliance with departmental procedures, documentation standards, regulatory requirements, safety policies, and infection control practices. Enforce proper patient identification and specimen labeling procedures to protect patient safety and specimen integrity. Investigate errors and incidents, manage reporting and follow‑up, upscale significant concerns to management, and implement corrective actions. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and patient care.Provide leadership and workforce management support by interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and validating competencies of new staff members. Develop work schedules, manage staffing levels, and adjust assignments in real time to meet changing patient volumes and operational priorities. Conduct performance evaluations and deliver ongoing coaching and feedback to promote professionalism, accountability, quality, and excellent customer service.Collaborate with nursing staff and providers to maintain strong working relationships and gather real‑time operational feedback. Monitor inventory and order phlebotomy equipment and supplies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.Prepare and analyze reports related to productivity, quality metrics, and staffing. Assist with budgeting and cost control initiatives. Participate in departmental meetings and support the implementation of new policies, procedures, and technologies.
