Job summary

Labcorp in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead a team of phlebotomists in patient service centers and physician offices. The role oversees patient flow, scheduling, payroll and performance appraisals, while ensuring top-notch service for patients and clients.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience, phlebotomy expertise, and strong communication skills. Travel to additional sites may be required. Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of supervisory or people leader experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a phlebotomist
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of phlebotomists in Patient Service Centers or physician offices
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules and payroll responsibilities
• Lead training for new phlebotomists and drive performance appraisals
• Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations issues
• Communicate effectively with patients, client staff and management
• Ensure exceptional customer service to patients and clients
• Support setup of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Address patient or client issues and provide resolutions
• Travel to additional sites as necessary

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Huntsville AL. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, additional days and hours may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
• Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
• Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
• Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 2 year or more experience in a supervisory or people leader position
• 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 year or more experience in a supervisory or people leader position
• 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Additional Job Standards

• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be at least 21 years' old

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Phlebotomist's may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
