Job summary

Labcorp in West Hills, CA is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to oversee a team of phlebotomists across client sites and patient service centers in the Los Angeles area.

You will manage workflows, scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews while ensuring exceptional patient service and regulatory compliance. A CA phlebotomy license and strong leadership and customer-service skills are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License.
  • 1+ years of experience as a phlebotomist.
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of approximately 34 or more phlebotomists working in client locations.
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary.
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking.
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules, and performance appraisals.
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions.
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions.
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients.
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices.
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues.
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed.
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in West Hills, CA.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday hours will vary between 8:00 am- 5:00 pm based on coverage needs; Weekend hours may be required as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of approximately 34 or more phlebotomists working in client locations. Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in West Hills, Northridge, Tarzana, Los Angeles and Inglewood area
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules, and performance appraisals

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License
  • 1 or more years of experience as a phlebotomist
  • 1 or more years of experience in customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree
  • 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment
  • 2 or more years' assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
  • 3 or more years' phlebotomy managerial or supervisory or team leader experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in client facing role or sales
Additional Job Standards:
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
Pay Range:

$70,304 - $94,474 annually

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

QUARTERLY INCENTIVE BONUS PROGRAM * : Supervisors may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
