Job summary

The Valley Health System in Southern Nevada seeks a Phlebotomy Technician to join its laboratory team in the Las Vegas area. The role performs venipunctures and other specimen collections, with solid knowledge of testing requirements and appropriate supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, phlebotomy training, and phlebotomy certification or eligible licensure; basic computer skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted).
• Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Advanced EMT or Licensed Paramedic also accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and other patient specimen collections; has thorough knowledge of testing and collection requirements; requires moderate supervision.
• Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set.
