Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and collect specimens across neonatal to adult patients. You will verify patient identity, label specimens, and ensure proper testing readiness in a fast-paced lab.

The role requires basic computer skills, good communication, and the ability to multitask while providing excellent patient service and support for Billing and other functions.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy knowledge and related lab function experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and ensure safety before specimen collection.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens per protocol for all ages.
• Label and track specimens; ensure proper transport and testing readiness.
• Perform limited CLIA-compliant testing per policies.
• Assist with inquiries, inventory, and billing-related support.
• Instruct staff and students in phlebotomy and data entry tasks.
