Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA is seeking a Phlebotomy Specialist II to collect specimens in outpatient and related settings. You will identify patients, select veins and tubes, label specimens, and ensure accuracy and quality of service.

The role requires travel to offsite locations and flexibility to cover all shifts, weekends and holidays. Strong communication helps ensure patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to collect adult and pediatric patients in hospital, outpatient, or long-term care facility.
• Training in a phlebotomy program preferred.

• Pay or shift range: $17.98 USD to $24.81 USD
  The pay range reflects the current compensation range for this position at the time of posting. Individual offers are determined based on directly related experience, skills, education, internal equity, and other job-related factors. Not all candidates will qualify for the upper end of the posted range.

Description

The Phlebotomy Specialist II is responsible for collecting patient specimens using proper protocols for patient identification, vein and tube selection, labeling in an outpatient setting. The phlebotomy specialist promotes exceptional customer service, and fosters a customer centric, professional setting that contributes to a positive and productive work environment. The position requires travel to offsite locations and the flexibility to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to collect adult and pediatric patients in hospital, outpatient, or long-term care facility
• Training in a phlebotomy program preferred

Skills

• Reasoning ability and good independent judgement.
• Strong interpersonal, computer and communication skills.
• Ability to collect blood samples from both adult and pediatric patients using venipuncture and capillary collections in various clinical settings.
• Willingness to work different shifts, weekends and/or holidays.
• Ability to work under stress and contribute to the team environment
