Job summary

Talentify in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our team for a short-term assignment (2+ months) with hours Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and alternating Saturdays 8am–12pm. Under the supervision of the area supervisor, you will perform forensic and clinical specimen collection, verify patient demographics and labels, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires flexibility to cover multiple locations, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime while upholding safety and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training preferred (MA or paramedic).
• Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Job Description:

• Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
• Maintains required records and documentation.
• Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.

• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
