Job summary

HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge in Colorado is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Assistant to support specimen collection, processing and lab operations.

You will handle age-specific collection techniques, answer questions about collection timing, and interface with hospitals, physicians and reference laboratories.

This role emphasizes customer service, clear communication and reliable computer skills in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary responsible for the efficient organization and effectiveness of the specimen procurement, receipt and processing area.
• Provide services addressing age-related techniques in specimen collection and care focusing on neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric populations.
• Answer the telephone, answer questions regarding specimen collection and time elements, interface between hospitals, hospital departments, physicians, medical offices and reference laboratories, obtain blood specimens, provide quality service, and perform general laboratory duties.

Qualifications you will need for this role

• SHIFT: Day Shift Hours Pending


• Phlebotomy Certification preferred


• High school diploma or GED required.


• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.


• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired, but not necessary


• You must have good customer service and communication skills.


• Basic computer skills are needed.
