Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent training is preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assembles equipment such as tourniquet, needles, collection devices, gauze, and alcohol according to test requirements.
• Verifies patient identity and communicates to ease anxiety about the procedure.
• Performs venipuncture, labels specimens, and stores them for processing.
• Maintains inventory and cleanliness of the drawing area.
