Job summary

Inova Health System is hiring a Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 PSC for a full-time Day Shift in Gainesville, VA. The LTA 2 PSC will prepare specimens, collect samples, and ensure accurate labeling and timely processing, while delivering excellent patient service per AIDET principles.

Role requires phlebotomy training and 1 year PSC experience (or 6 months at Inova PSC) with BLS within 3 months of hire. Benefits include health coverage, retirement match, education assistance, mental health

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy training certificate or similar allied health program is required.
• 1 year PSC experience or 6 months at Inova PSC; or completion of Inova Phlebotomy School.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, store, and package specimens per lab protocols to preserve integrity.
• Communicate effectively with Inova staff and external partners to optimize performance.
• Perform patient registration, test orders, and ensure proper testing and billing.
• Collect specimens using proper venipuncture/capillary techniques and label accurately.
• Provide excellent patient care and accurate, clear information to customers using AIDET principles.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
