Job summary

Baptist is seeking a qualified phlebotomist to support the operation of the Laboratory in Oxford, MS. You will assist with pre-analytical and post-analytical processes to help ensure optimal patient outcomes and will perform phlebotomy and specimen collections under the supervision of the pathology department.

Responsibilities include communicating with patients, maintaining specimen quality, and participating in urine drug screens and ongoing learning to meet department goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
• Training as acquired in an approved phlebotomy training program.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collections.
• Assesses and maintains quality of specimens.
• Communicates with patients and customers.
• Assesses specimens.
• Performs urine drug screen collections and industrial screening as required.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
