Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in Orange, California seeks a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to provide skilled specimen collection and exceptional customer service as the face of the laboratory. You will also receive and process samples, and prepare them for send-outs while performing light clerical duties such as data entry and telephone reception.

The role requires at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, HS diploma or GED, and California phlebotomy tech licensure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from a phlebotomy/tech training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Receive, process, and package samples for send-outs.
• Distribute in-house samples to testing benches.
• Perform clerical tasks: data entry, phone reception, and lab duties.
