Hours

Full Time (40 hours/week), hours vary between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm. Every 3rd Saturday rotation. Closed on legal holidays. Some flexibility with schedule.

The role primarily involves floating between labs that need assistance, including weekends on a rotating basis. The region includes Lebanon, Manheim, Ephrata, and Lititz, with occasional opportunities to float to other regions.

Summary

• Provides patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, test ordering, and coordination of services. Capable of effective communication during high volumes or with complex patients. Requires clinical skills in phlebotomy, EKG, holter monitors, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection. Maintains competency skills.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation:

Phlebotomy

• Performs venipuncture and capillary specimen collection.
• Validates patient identity and specimen integrity; understands specimen requirements and protocols.
• Documents all specimen collection stages in computer systems, manages orders, and produces reports.
• Maintains clinical skills and performs cleaning, maintenance, and inventory tasks.

Registration

• Performs accurate patient registration, handling high volumes and acuity.
• Supports inbound/outbound calls, screens messages, verifies insurance, and enters orders.
• Understands insurance coverage and referral requirements; performs electronic and manual verifications.
• Prepares and releases records, scans documents, and manages patient information securely.
• Completes scheduling and registration work queues, resolving issues as needed.
• Communicates with patients regarding co-pays, expenses, and pre-appointment prep.
• Supports Point of Service Collections and collects patient financial obligations.

Secondary Duties

• Additional procedures like EKG, holter monitors, blood pressure, and vital signs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of educational/training requirements; annual competency evaluation.
• CPR Certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.
• One year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience.
• Proficiency with keyboarding, computer use, and office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy or registration experience (training provided).
• One year of Epic or similar Electronic Medical Record experience.
