Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples, perform whole blood glucose testing, and conduct 12-lead EKGs with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include proper patient identification, specimen labeling, transport, and adherence to protocols, along with assisting with inventory. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months healthcare/phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• 6 Months Healthcare/Medical - Phlebotomist Required.
• Successful completion of Phlebotomy and 12-Lead EKG testing courses.
• National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients prior to specimen collection or glucose testing per protocol.
• Label and transport specimens after collection per protocol.
• Follow procedures for collecting specimens for lab analysis and glucose testing; assist and communicate procedures to staff.
• Select appropriate equipment, reagents, and sample types for collection.
• Document specimen collection issues, quality control, and glucose results with comments and codes.
• Perform 12-lead EKG tests per protocol and transmit results for immediate care.
• Assist with inventory and supply management and perform other duties as trained.
