MUSC East Cooper Women's in Mount Pleasant is a women's health outpatient clinic. Our specialty clinic operates Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM, no holidays or weekends.

We are hiring a Phlebotomist who draws and collects blood samples, verifies records and prepares specimens for analysis. Education requires a High School diploma or equivalent and an Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate. This entry-level role requires up to 6 months of experience and physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May prick finger to draw blood. May conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank.

Minimum Training and Education

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience: 0 - 6 months.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

Credentials: Completed Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36 to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
